Conversed.ai was founded in 2018 by Arnold Ligtvoet and entrepreneur Sander van der Kraan, shortly after he left his previous company Form, a performance marketing agency, had sold to Deloitte Digital.
Based in Southeast Asia, the team spent its first few years building custom conversational AI solutions for large multinationals like FrieslandCampina, Danone, Diageo and Abbott, in languages not supported by any platform at the time, such as Bahasa Indonesia and Vietnamese. That was well before the advent of large language models, with only NLU, NLP and RPA as building blocks.
One year before the release of ChatGPT, Conversed.ai made a strategic pivot toward Europe. The team had made an early connection to OpenAI and was among the first to see that the market was fundamentally tilting: companies and consumers who had disliked chatbots for years were suddenly beginning to embrace them. But with that opportunity also came a challenge, because large language models are powerful but difficult to control. That's exactly where Conversed.ai's core lies: building a platform that allows organizations to easily train, control, optimize and seamlessly integrate their AI Agents with their existing software.
Meanwhile, there stands a passionate team of AI Agent specialists from the very beginning, led by COO and Head of Product Sagar Schoneveld and supported by an Advisory Board chaired by Walter Hueber, along with Maarten Elshove and legendary entrepreneur and investor Michiel Mol. Conversed.ai today works with the best LLMs in the world: Anthropic (Claude), Mistral as European pride, ElevenLabs for voice, and OpenAI (ChatGPT), all running within Europe.
And the team? It's not just made up of amazingly talented people. A whole army of AI Agents rotates daily, not only for clients, but also for Conversed.ai itself. So that the team can fully focus on what it's all about: building the best AI Agent optimization platform in the world.
